Nigeria’s sprint hurdling sensation, Tobi Amusan, delivered another brilliant performance on the global stage, winning silver in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
Amusan stormed through the high-stakes final at the National Stadium with a time of 12.29 seconds, narrowly missing the gold to Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who set a new national record of 12.24 seconds.
The bronze medal went to Grace Stark of the USA (12.34s), while her compatriot *Masai Russell placed fourth with 12.44s.
Earlier in the day, Amusan had shown signs of dominance, winning her semifinal in 12.36s (-0.2), the fastest time of the round—outpacing Nadine Visser (12.45s) of the Netherlands and Pia Skrzyszowska (12.51s) of Poland.
