Nasarawa United outclassed Flight FC of Gboko with a 2-0 convincing victory to seal a round of 32 spot in the 2025 President Federation’s Cup round 64 tie decided on Wednesday at the Jos International Stadium, Plateau State.

Centre forward, Ugochukwu Leonard, marked his return to the Solid Miners with a delightful goal in the 6th minute after being found through by John Joshua.

Eleven minutes later, right back, Kabir Balogun, increased the goal tally with a magical set piece finish, driving the ball past the opposition goalkeeper, as United led 2-0 heading into the interval.

The second-half couldn’t yield any alterations to the scoreline, as the Premier League side advanced to the next phase of the oldest knockout inter-club football competition in Nigeria.

Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa, Professor Onje Gye-wado, as well as the Chief Whip and Member representing Akwanga North Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa, were on the State Government’s delegation to motivate the team to achieving success today.

United will know their round of 32 foes when Ijele FC of Enugu and Lautau FC of Jigawa lock horns in the other round of 64 fixture.
