In a historic evening for Moroccan football, Achraf Hakimi and Ghizlane Chebbak were honored as the 2025 CAF Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year, respectively, at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards ceremony held in Rabat.
Achraf Hakimi, the dynamic right-back for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the Moroccan national team, clinched the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award following a stellar season. Ghizlane Chebbak, captain of both AS FAR and the Moroccan women’s national team, made history by becoming the first Moroccan woman to win the CAF Women’s Player of the Year award. Chebbak’s exceptional playmaking and leadership were instrumental in Morocco’s impressive run to the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where she emerged as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals.
