Nigeria’s Flying Eagles secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in their group F match at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile. The victory boosts their chances of reaching the Round of 16.
Midfielder Nasiru Salihu opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 10th minute, but Saudi Arabia equalized through Amar Alyuhaybi in the 21st minute. Amos Ochoche restored Nigeria’s lead before halftime.
The Saudis leveled again in the 51st minute via Talal Haji, but captain Daniel Bameyi secured the win with a penalty in the 90+4 minute.
This win puts Nigeria in a strong position to advance. They face Colombia on Monday, with a result likely securing their Round of 16 spot.
