The National Sports Commission under the able leadership of Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko and DG, Bukola Olopade Are doing everything within their powers to secure a chattered flight that will storm Morocco to drum support for the Super Falcons as they gun for their tenth Africa Women’s championship title on Saturday.
The Commission has the full backing of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, who earlier in the day, directed that all outstanding bonuses be paid to players and officials of the team before Saturday’s finals.
Apart from the game in Morocco, the NSC has also sent a strong delegation to Abidjan, where a well motivated Nigeria Women Basketball team, D’Tigress, are flying Nigeria’s flag at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket championship.
In Algeria, a contingent of 60 student-athletes have since arrived Annaba, venue of the Africa school sports championship while on Friday in Abuja, the African Armwrestling championship fully sponsored by the National Sports Commission also flagged off.
Let’s not also forget that the CAA Africa Junior Athletics championship only ended on Sunday this week in Abeokuta while the National Sports Festival ended just over a month ago in the Gateway state.
In August, there is the WAFU Zone B Under 17 football Qualifier taking place in Abeokuta and the NSC in their usual confident mood is saying bring them on! we are fully ready
These are signs of better days to come for Nigeria Sports as the Commission has the full assurances and backing of the presidency to keep promoting Nigeria sports and athletes for a better tomorrow
