House of Prayer Football Academy sealed a historic 1-0 win over Discovery Talent FA to clinch the 10th edition of the AMAPRO Football Championship on Sunday evening at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl of the George Innih Stadium in Ilorin.
The tightly contested final lived up to expectations, with both teams coming in unbeaten and tactically cautious in the early stages. The decisive moment came in the 63rd minute when Abdulganiyu Ridwan rose highest to head home the winner, sending House of Prayer fans into celebration.
Discovery Talent FA, debutants in the tournament, controlled possession in the first half but couldn’t find a way past goalkeeper Usman Sodiq. Despite a late surge in search of an equalizer, House of Prayer’s defense, led with discipline and resilience, held firm until the final whistle.
The win sparked jubilant scenes among House of Prayer players, technical crew, and their largely church-based supporters, marking a major milestone in the academy’s journey.
