Super Eagles B to Kick Off 8th African Nations Championship in Zanzibar

The Super Eagles B, Nigeria’s 2018 silver-medal winning team, will play their group phase games in Zanzibar, a Tanzanian archipelago off the coast of East Africa, during the 8th African Nations Championship. The team is in Group D with defending champions Senegal, Congo, and Sudan.

The tournament will take place from August 2nd to August 30th, with the opening match scheduled for the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The final match will be held at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Super Eagles B will face Senegal Congo and Sudan.

All Group D matches will be played in Zanzibar.

The Super Eagles B qualified for the tournament after defeating Ghana 3-1 on aggregate in their qualifying fixture last December. They were also bronze medalists in the 2014 edition of the championship.

Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, the three East African nations that will jointly host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations finals, have been mandated to host this year’s African Nations Championship as a dress rehearsal.
