The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced that the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024 will be postponed to August 2025. Despite significant progress in upgrading stadiums, training fields, hotels, hospitals, and other infrastructure in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, CAF’s technical and infrastructure experts have advised that more time is needed to ensure that facilities meet the required standards.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe expressed gratitude to the presidents of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda for their leadership and commitment to hosting a successful tournament. He also commended the ongoing construction and renovation efforts, expressing confidence that the infrastructure will meet CAF standards by August 2025.
The draw for the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda 2024 is scheduled to take place in Nairobi on January 15, 2025. The exact start date of the tournament in August 2025 will be announced by CAF in due course.
