Bukola Olopade, has cautioned Nigeria’s Super Eagles B against complacency as they prepare to face Ghana in a crucial qualifying match on Saturday, December 28, in Uyo. Olopade stressed the importance of leveraging home advantage and urged the players to remain disciplined, determined, and tactical throughout the match.
The first leg of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier ended in a goalless draw in Ghana, leaving everything to play for in the return leg in Uyo. The winner will secure a ticket to the 8th African Nations Championship.
Olopade reminded the team of their past disappointment against Ghana during the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers, where they failed to qualify after a goalless draw in Ghana was followed by a home defeat in Abuja. He sees this match as an opportunity for redemption and to bring pride to the nation ¹.
Ghana’s Black Galaxies are expected to arrive in Port Harcourt on Friday, December 27, via a chartered flight, before connecting to Uyo by road. The team has been preparing intensively, with a final training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Boxing Day.
