Nigeria Football Federation President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has congratulated Mallam Shehu Dikko on his appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission.According to Gusau, Dikko’s vast experience in football administration, marketing expertise, and leadership roles in Nigeria’s elite League, FIFA, and CAF Committees make him an ideal candidate for the position.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently named Dikko as Chairman of the reintroduced National Sports Commission, replacing the Federal Ministry of Sports Development. Dikko has previously served as Chairman of the Nigeria Professional Football League (now Nigeria Premier Football League) for nearly eight years and was the second Vice President of the NFF.
Gusau expressed his confidence in Dikko’s ability to succeed, citing his knowledge, skill, experience, steadfastness, temperament, diligence, and intelligence. He also highlighted Dikko’s enterprise, resourcefulness, and positive ideas, which will help take Nigerian football to new heights.
Dikko has previously served in the following position:
• Chairman, Nigeria Professional Football League (now Nigeria Premier Football League)
• Second Vice President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
• Member, FIFA Football Stakeholders Committee
• Chairman, Marketing and Sponsorship Committee, NFF
• Member, CAF Inter-Clubs Committee ¹
