Defence Spikers Clinch Division 2 Title
The 2024 National Division 1 Volleyball League came to a thrilling conclusion at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Abia State, with NAF Rockets and Delta Queens emerging as champions in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
NAF Rockets secured the top spot with an impressive 43 points, after defeating LifeCamp VC 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-31) in their final match. This victory propelled them to the 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.
The final standings for the men’s division are:
1. NAF Rockets (43 points)
2. UCEM VC (40 points)
3. LifeCamp VC (34 points)
4. Youthful Sword VC (29 points)
5. G-Ranks Spikers (22 points)
6. Katsina United (14 points)
7. Safety Spikers (14 points)
8. Kwara United
Oluyole Spikers failed to appear in the second phase of the league.

In the women’s category Delta Queens remained unbeaten throughout the league, securing the title blistering version. Wikki Queens and Ekiti Queens finished second and third, respectively.
In the National Division 2 League, Defence Spikers emerged victorious with 38 points, closely followed by Wikki Spikers (35 points) and Ajase Ipo VC (28 points).
The final standings for the Division 2 League are:
1. Defence Spikers (38 points)
2. Wikki Spikers (35 points)
3. Ajase Ipo VC (28 points)
4. Bayelsa United (24 points)
5. Delta Force (22 points)
Osun Spikers, Sokoto United, and Jewel Spikers failed to appear in the final phase.

In his closing remarks, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod, praised the Abia State Government for hosting the final phase of the Division 1 and 2 Leagues. He emphasized the importance of sports in reducing social vices and urged State Governors to prioritize sports development.
Nimrod congratulated the winners and participants for a successful league, saying, “Your dedication and hard work have made this league a resounding success.”
The 2024 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues have come to a close, but the excitement will continue as the champions prepare for the next level of competition.
