Nasarawa United’s Anas Yusuf stole the show with a stunning hat-trick, condemning Abia Warriors to a 3-0 defeat in their Matchday 7 clash at the Lafia City Stadium.
The first 45 minutes ended goalless, but the hosts came out with renewed intensity in the second half.
The pressure paid off in the 56th minute when Yusuf headed a delightful cross into the net for the opener. The spectators were still in jubilant mood when Yusuf doubled the lead for the hosts just a minute after his curtain raiser after he found time and space to shoot from 10 yards.
A wholesale substitution from the Warriors bench did little to stop the effervescent Yusuf from completing his hat trick, when he scored a screamer for his second hat trick of the season in the 70th minute.
The loss marks Abia Warriors’ worst defeat of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
