MFM Women’s Basketball team successfully defended their Zenith Bank/NBBF Women’s Basketball League title, defeating Nigeria Customs 64-53 in the 2024 final.
The defending champions dominated the game, winning all quarters and leading by 19 points at halftime (36-17). Customs’ attempts to close the gap were thwarted by MFM’s solid defense.
At the post-game press conference, Zenith Bank’s General Manager, Mrs. Olatilewa Akinwolere, representing the GMD/CEO, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, pledged continued support to put Nigerian basketball on the global map.
First Bank Women Basketball Club secured third place with a nail-biting 46-45 victory over Royal Aces.
The winners, MFM, received N1.750m, while Customs and First Bank received N750,000 and N250,000, respectively.
National U-18 girls captain, Hembam Wandoo, was named the Most Valuable Player of the season.
