Niger Tornadoes Held to Frustrating Home Draw by Lobi Stars

Niger Tornadoes’ winless home streak continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Lobi Stars in the NPFL Match Day 6 tie.

The hosts dominated the first half, creating numerous chances, but failed to capitalize. Lobi Stars took a surprise lead in the second half through Ossy Martins’ goal, assisted by Ahmadu Liman.

Mohammed Hussaini’s stunning free kick was controversially denied by Atsaka Daniel, with some arguing the ball crossed the line. Niger Tornadoes’ wastefulness in front of goal continued until substitute Olawale Emmanuel equalized late in the game.

Coach Majin Mohammed expressed frustration but appealed for calm. “A point is better than none. Lobi Stars, despite being at the bottom of the table, have experienced players. We created chances but struggled to convert them, a recurring problem we’re working to resolve.”

He emphasized the importance of winning, especially at home, but urged fans to remain patient.
