2023 Elections: Tinubu emerges as APC Presidential flag bearer

Former Lagos State Governor and a National leader of All Progressives Party (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the Presidential candidate of the ruling party after a landslide victory at the Party National convention conducted at Eagles Square, Abuja which was concluded on Wednesday.

Tinubu score 1,271 votes in the party’s Primaries election that was initially embroil with innuendos and political machinations before the Congress commenced.

The flag of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, was on Wednesday, handed to the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu by President Muhammad Buhari (L) and Abdullah Adamu (R).

Against all odds, Bola Tinubu conquered the sitting Vice President of Nigeria Yemi Osinbajo, a serving Senate President, Lawal Ahmed, five incumbent governors which includes Yahya Bello (Kogi), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Dave Umahi (Ebonyi).

Also defeated in the contest by Asiwaju of Yoruba land as Tinubu is fondly called were five ex-governors, an ex-minister, an-ex senate president and a host of others, to clinch the APC’s ticket.
